But did you know that you can actually make your own whitening product right in the comfort of your home and using the most common kitchen items. Even though they are simple recipes that you can do by yourself at home, they are just as effective as the ones that are commercially sold.

There are different fruits that you can combine with lemon to make a whitening recipe. Below are some of the lemon-based recipes that you can use to help whiten your skin.
Honey and Lemon
This is a very simple recipe. All you need is to mix freshly squeezed lemon juice and three tablespoons of honey. Do not go for the bottled lemon juice and when squeezing the lemon, make sure that you squeeze the whole lemon. As for the honey, the raw ones will give you the best result. The ones that you can get from grocery stores have already been processed. Go to health food stores to get raw honey.
Once you have thoroughly mixed the two ingredients already, apply it on the part of your skin that needs to be lightened. Allow the product to stay there for twenty minutes and then rinse the product off using warm water. Again, lemon can really make your skin dry so make sure that you moisturize your skin after applying this paste.
Lemon and Oatmeal
People that have really dry skin will be better off with this recipe. Oatmeal leaves the skin with a much softer feeling. Do not immediately mix the oatmeal with the lemon. Make sure that you cook it first. If you have any leftover from your breakfast, you can use that. But if you don’t then cook two tablespoons of oatmeal. It is better to use oats that are quick-cooking.
Once you have cooked the oatmeal, mash it all up before you add half a teaspoon of warm water and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Thoroughly mix all the ingredients. To start seeing results, apply the mixture on the areas that you want to lighten and let it sit for half an hour. Wash off the mixture using warm water and if necessary, apply lotion.
Unlike commercial products that are chemical-based, you need to have some patience because it will take a longer time before you start seeing results. The skin usually rejuvenates in 30 days. So after this period, you will see a change in the way your skin looks. The recipes that we have here is just as effective as the bleaching creams sold commercially.
