The black walnut herb is considered and recognized for a very long time to be very effective in removing different skin diseases such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, impetigo, acne, moles, warts, eczema, and skin tags. A number of herbalists believe in the primary ingredient found in the hull of the black walnut, the Juglone, influences the unneeded skin cells into a toxic element that the body rejects them from infesting the tissues.

When you apply the black walnut hull directly to the skin tags, it will eventually die and then fall off from its place. There are even recipes of black walnut hull used internally in order to kill the intestinal worms and parasites. When used for a number of skin diseases, the black walnut hull tincture is used and applied through external means. You can make your own tincture recipe using black walnut hull at the very comfort of your home. There are two ways to prepare this tincture – water-based and alcohol-based. If your skin is sensitive to the sting dealt by alcohol, go with the water-based recipe instead. However, the alcohol-based tincture recipe is more effective in immediately eradicating the skin tags.

To make a water-based tincture using black walnut, take at least 10 black walnuts which have green husk on them; water that is enough to let the husks immerse in it; saucepan, plastic gloves and 1/4 teaspoon vitamin C powder. The vitamin C ingredient is optional. You can take vitamin C tablets and crush them really well to make a powder. Make sure that you wear the gloves before making this recipe as black walnut has the tendency to stain your skin. Remove the husks from the walnuts. Take the green husks and place it in a saucepan. Pour water over the husks at a level that covers all of them. Bring it to boil. Take the saucepan out of the heat and cover it with a lid. Leave it aside for at least 24 hours. After one whole day, strain the liquid and store it inside a bottle. If you prefer, you can add the vitamin C powder which acts as a preservative. This mixture is also good for the skin, too.

As for the alcohol-based tincture, you prepare the same ingredients, but changing water with alcohol instead. You prepare the green husks inside a saucepan, pour in alcohol and bring it to boil. Remove heat and leave it aside for 48 hours. After that, strain the alcohol mixture and add water of equal amount to it. Store the mixture inside a bottle.

You apply the tincture mixture for at least three times per day. If you are pregnant, don’t use this method unless you consult from your doctor.
