Butter

It’s been said that everything is better with butter. You can help to treat dry and brittle hair with a little butter, in order to create a shine. Simply massage the butter into the dry hair, then use a shower cap to cover your head for about 30 minutes. Finally, shampoo as you normally do, and then rinse out all the butter.

Olive Oil

Studies have shown that olive oil is healthy to add to food due to the “good” fad it contains. Simply warm up ½ cup of olive oil but don’t boil it. Next, rub the oil into your hair. Use a plastic bag to cover your locks, then wrap up everything in a towel. Let everything set for 45 minutes, then shampoo your hair and rinse it completely.

Botanical Oils

These are available in health food stores. Some elixirs available for damaged hair include olive, sweet almond, and jojaba. Coconut oil is the best choice for thick hair. First dampen your hair and apply small amounts of botanical oil until your hair is covered completely. Then add a shower cap and warm towel. Wait half an hour and then rinse/shampoo your hair.

Apple Cider Vinegar

This is an easy yet effective home remedy for dry/damaged hair. Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 3 egg whites. The next step is to rub the mix into your tresses. Make sure to keep your hair covered for around half an hour using a shower cap or plastic wrap. Then shampoo your hair and rinse.

Avocado and Egg

Simply remove the pit of a ripe avocado, and then mash it up with one egg. It’s critical to apply the avocado/egg mixture to wet hair. Avocados are full of vitamins minerals, and essential fatty acids that will help your hair to look moisturized and shiny. After adding the mixture to your hair let it stay for 20 minutes. Then rinse your locks several times. If your hair is damaged repeat this process once a month in order to restore healthy hair.

Shampoo Omelet

You’ve had an omelet for breakfast but how about a shampoo omelet? Simply mix one egg with a tiny amount of shampoo. Then apply the mixture to your damaged hair for 5 min. Afterwards rinse your hair well. This treatment will help to improve the protein in your hair.

Sandalwood Oil

Simply mix a couple drops of sandalwood oil and some drops of olive/jojoba oil. Then rub the blend between your palms. Next, run it through your hair for weak/flyaway hair. You can also add a few drops of hand lotion in your palm and then run it through your dry/damaged hair.

Tea

This is another remedy that has more than one uses. Tea is not only helpful for calming your nerves, but can also provide your hair with a natural sheen. After washing your hair with shampoo, use a quart of warm/unsweetened tea as the final rinse. It could be instant or freshly brewed tea. It’s important to use a tea that matches well with your hair color since tea can improve your hair color. For example, brunettes should use black tea for shine/color, and blondes should consider chamomile tea since black tea could darken your locks.
